Chile - As seen on TV.The Belen Estate in Chile's Casablanca Valley is perfect for growing grapes that make fresh, fruit driven wines. The clay and granite soils are not too fertile and the maritime influences allows the grapes to ripen slowly retaining delicious fruit flavours. The nose of this wine is full of fresh red fruit aromas and these are represented on the palate as well but with added hints of clove, chocolate and coffee. This would be best with roast duck.

Errazuriz Estate Series Pinot Noir 2015, Valle de Aconcagua

Chile - Don Maximiano Errázuriz founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870 in the Valle de Aconcagua, 100 kms north of the capital city, Santiago. He realised that the cool, rainy winters and hot, dry summers combined with Pacific breezes to make it an ideal area to grow grapes. An attractive colour with an aromatic nose of cherries, floral notes and a touch of mint. The fresh palate displays fruit that is well-balanced by smoky nuances from the oak ageing. A smooth, silky mouthfeel make this an excellent partner to roast pork, turkey or fillet of salmon.

Errazuriz - Estate Pinot Noir 2013

Chile - This light-bodied Pinot delivers fragrant red fruit on the nose with a classic palate of raspberry and red cherry and well-integrated oak. This wine is bright ruby-red with purple highlights. The elegant nose displays fresh raspberries and cherries with subtle touches of smoke and tobacco. The friendly, well-balanced palate has a crisp quality that recalls baked apples, blueberries, and cherries, all complemented by toasted smoky notes from the oak aging. The grapes were hand picked in March and taken to the cellar in small 14 kg (31 lb) boxes where they were sorted, gently destemmed, and deposited into stainless steel tanks. A 57-day cold soak at 68C/43-46F followed to enhance fruit intensity and spicy notes. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out at 26-30C/79-86F, followed by a post-fermentation maceration for 20 days of additional skin contact. The wine was aged for eight months in French oak barrels. .

Australia - A very nationalistic blend of pinot noir fruit from some of the best red growing regions in the country. The majority of the fruit was machine harvested, after which the fruit was fermented in a combination of traditional hand plunged open vats and larger potter tanks. Maturation was then carried out in predominantly French oak casks for 12 months prior to bottling Lots of varietal cherry and strawberry aromas with complexing forest floor undertones. New Zealand - Sourced from several vineyards in Marlborough's Southern Valleys, whose clay soils promote the growth of small bunches of small berries, and thus intensely flavoured Pinot Noir. Portions of the wine are aged in French oak barriques before blending with unoaked wine. Rich garnet core with a purplish rim. Aromas of ripe black cherries and currants, with a lifted raspberry note and a hint of vanilla. Fine tannins, medium palate weight, and good fruit concentration. Can be cellared for up to 5 years.
